The Shed
The Shed is a community woodworking and skills-sharing initiative located at within South Wigston at Elliott Hall for Youth & Community (CIC). This project, inspired by "Men in Sheds," welcomes adults over 18, offering a space to learn woodworking, use shared tools, and work on various projects.
The Shed Details
- Location: Found on the right side of the Elliott Hall building at 14 Albion Street, South Wigston, LE18 4SA.
- Cost: £3.00 per session, plus material costs.
- Activities: Participants engage in woodworking to create items like bird boxes, bug hotels, and stools.

The Shed Opening Hours
The project is open four mornings each week:
- Monday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Tuesday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Thursday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Friday: 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
Other Creative Groups at Elliott Hall
Elliott Hall also hosts various other creative and wellbeing activities:
- Wood Carving/Woodwork: Meets on the left side of the building on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
- Craft Groups: Sessions for knitting, crochet, and sewing are held on Tuesdays (9:30 am – 12:30 pm), Thursdays (1:30 pm – 4:30 pm), and Fridays (6:00 pm – 8:30 pm).
- Drop-in Art Group: A self-directed drawing and painting class on Tuesdays from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm.

If you wish to buy an item, these items need to be collected as unable to post from venue:
